Jason Verley

Biography
Jason Verley is a Principal R&D Computer Scientist in the Electrical Models & Simulation department at Sandia National Laboratories, where he develops radiation-aware compact models for semiconductor devices. Jason joined Sandia in 2001, working in the Microelectronics Development Lab as a Metrology Process Engineer. His work at Sandia has also included photolithography process engineering, photonic microstructure research using FTIR and emission spectroscopy, and the simulation of optoelectronic devices using TCAD software. Jason joined the Xyce Electronic Simulator project in 2012. His current research interests include the physics of radiation in semiconductor devices, the development of radiation-aware compact models, and the interplay of compact model implementations with high-performance computational techniques in circuit simulators.
Education
Jason received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the Colorado School of Mines in 2000, after which he did postdoctoral research with the Solid-State Spectroscopy group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). His dissertation research involved the optical characterization of photovoltaic semiconductors using ellipsometry.
